铭文：|1.端石为研品第一，但下岩水坑，宋时已不可得。前明于东西洞水底数十仞下所采，甚有佳者。至国朝于洞旁复采，则皆纯石，无诸品之异。余客粤，搜求三载，得石数十，其老坑有足征信者为冰纹，为金银线，为鱼脑火脑，为五彩钉，为翡翠朱砂斑，为鸲鹆眼，为青花蕉叶白，为虫蛀鼠迹，为金斑玉带共一十六方，或前人已有铭志，或子石未琢就，其小大列其差等而藏之。虽非大西洞下岩宋坑，而质理细润，迥殊近时雑坑石，洵足为文房永寳。道光庚寅立秋日，云间金垞氏自记。|2.第二（弍）砚。 |说明：配红木天地盖。
