|由于民间此类杌凳多见于寺庙，故又称禅凳。此为苏式，攒框编藤，直枨，牙头透锼成卷云纹，方直腿马蹄内翻。类似方凳可参见国立故宫博物院，《风华再现——明清家具特展》，页68；Ellsworth， Robert H. Chinese Furniture， Hardwood Examples of the Ming and Early Ch’ing Dynasties， pl.111。马书着《坐观》页142中收录有一对紫檀方凳，为与本例成套者。
