A pair of impressive 19th century French patinated and gilt bronze figural five light torchère candelabra


the figures representing Summer and Autumn and from the Four Seasons and cast after models by Jean Francois Lorta (French,1752-1837) the classical figures semi-clad in diaphonous draped robes, each holding aloft fluted cornucopia issuing four naturalistic scrolling lily stems forming the arms about a further central flowering stem, the flowerheads forming the nozzles, on circular bases, signed to the circular bases JOAN. FR. LORTA, SCULP. 1788, and raised on square rouge marble shallow plinths, some alterations and later fitted for electricity, 138cm high (2)
