|Provenance: the estate of Sir Russell Facey-Wilkinson (1888-1868), thence by descent. Sir Russell Facey-Wilkinson was physician and aide-de-camp to Prince Arthur of Connaught (1883-1938), who served as Governor General in South Africa from 1920-1924. By repute, Sir Russell was given the birds in gratitude by a visiting dignitary to whom he administered medical treatment.
