识文：大学。大学之道，在明明德，在亲民……家齐而后国治，国治而后天下平。|款识：大学为空学之纲……廿三年十一月至沪，溯初兄相见甚欢，赠予以诗嘱为作指书，因录大学并以所见质之。妙观胡瑞霖并识。第四行不远于道句，远字当做杂。|钤印：子笏（朱）妙观道人（朱）|签条：胡瑞霖指书，（屏条之一、之二、之三、之四） |作者简介：胡瑞霖（1864～1943），字子笏，法名妙观，湖北江陵黄陂县人。民国初年一位护持佛教的居士。幼年受家塾教育，攻读八股文，惟未应试。瑞霖留学日本时，与革命志士相交往，亦具有革命思想，故回国后虽在武汉创办实业，赏亦参加革命活动。著有《餐石记》。
