虎形，四肢匍匐，虎尾盤身，虎爪前伸，褐彩為地，黑彩為飾。虎背為枕面，開光繪花卉。器身繪仿虎皮斑紋。虎首濃眉大眼，巧借鼻孔為通氣孔。平底素胎，胎土堅，色略帶褐灰，塗白色化妝土並施微帶褐色透明釉。與本件器型相同，而在枕的背面以水禽紋、童子紋或是行草體詩文等各類紋飾之陶枕相當普遍。古人相信虎枕具有避邪、得子的功效，因而在當時受到廣泛青睞。宋、遼、金代十分盛行虎枕，尤盛於金代，傳世虎枕數量豐富，各大美術館、博物館均有收藏。［參閱］13世紀褐釉行草體詩文鐵繪虎形枕(金) ，H:7.5cm，台灣知名文物收藏家洪敏昌藏。
