炉为簋式炉，系模仿商周青铜簋的造型。宋代注重礼制，尤其推崇三代之礼。北宋聂崇义编撰【三礼图集注】，为朝廷制作礼器提供样本。宋徽宗将皇家收藏的古器编成【宣和博古图】，并以此为样本大量仿制三代礼器。上行下效，崇尚商周古器之风在宋代达官贵人和文人雅士中流行起来，这件簋式炉是香炉，施青釉，肩部采用两道凸弦纹装饰，形体稳中见秀。
