North India, possibly Gujarat, 17th/ 18th Centuryof square form, woven in polychrome silk and silver thread with a central roundel containing a flowerhead surrounded by a band of smaller roses and flowerheads interspersed by trailing roses and a border containing an undulating rose vine, the borders with a series of lotuses within cartouches formed by foliate motifs
175 x 175 cm.
