A shakudo tsubaOmori School, Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century
The tsuba of oval form, the thick shakudo nanako plate richly inlaid in gold takazogan with a running shishi over a shakudo and silver rock with bamboo grass and wild plants in gold inlay, trailing over the rim to the reverse, a gold and silver peony growing to one side, unsigned; with a fitted wood storage box. 7.6cm (3in). (3).注脚Accompanied by a NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu certificate, dated Showa 58 (1983), attributing the work to the Omori school.
