Wightman" Needlework Sampler and Family Record, Bozrah, Connecticut, dated 1840, stitched with three lines of alphabet and number over a vine framed verse flanked by potted flowers, seven lines of Wightman family record, and a scene of two women, a house, trees, flowers, bird, and column, singed in needlework below "Wrought by Emily L. Wightman When 10 years of age R.A.Wall Teacher," all within a meandering vine and flower border, framed, ht. 18 3/4, wd. 19 1/4 in. Provenance: Carol and Stephen Huber, Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Note: Emily L. Wightman was born in 1829. She is a descendant of Bridget Allyn, whose sampler is offered as lot 82. The property of Brian and Pam Ehrlich
