Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Of typical form and supported on two lobed feet, constructed for displaying four swords, decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e with all over design of chrysanthemum blossoms and kiri-mon (paulownia crests) floating on a stream, all reserved on a rich nashiji ground, applied with silvered-metal mounts engraved with karakusa ('Chinese grasses'); with a wood storage box. 44.5cm x 68.6cm (17½in x 27in).
