余明善（1916-2005）字人同，生前系天津文史馆员、中国书协会员、天津书协理事、天津师大教授。先生是津门书界最具代表性的人物之一，其书法以功力型、传统型享誉书坛，暮年变法，以独具个性的风貌，独步津门影响极大。先生兼擅真、行、草、隶、篆诸体，榜书小楷无不精能，尤其以魏碑、章草研习最精，成绩卓著，名扬海内外。先生创构的震惊书坛，体势博大，真力弥漫，气度恢宏，蕴含丰厚的余派书风，集诸家之妙笔，创艺林之一格的书风，被推重为余体魏碑和余体章草。
