Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Posturing with a tabi-clad foot slightly raised, one hand holding a fan and the other tucked inside her kimono, the kimono embellished in gold hiramaki-e and e-nashiji with maple leaves, the obi decorated with tsuru mon (crane family crests), the collar also rendered in gold hiramaki-e with a rinzu (fragmented key-fret) design, her hair elaborately coiffured and decorated with a large kogai (hair pin), unsigned; with a scalloped wood stand.
