By Seifu Yohei III (1851-1914), Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Both bowls painted in underglaze colours, one with plum blossoms around the front and a partly obscured moon on the reverse; the second bowl with large yellow, mauve and salmon-pink peony blooms, both painted around the foot in underglaze blue with a wide band of stylised foliage; both signed along the front of the foot Seifu; with a wood tomobako storage box inscribed on the lid Jisaiga haisen (Painted porcelain bowls for rinsing sake cups) with seal, signed inside the lid Yohei tsukuru with seal Teishitsu gigei'in Seifu Yohei sei (Made by Seifu Yohei, Artist-Craftsman to the Imperial Household) and two tomogire sealed Seifu.
