Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1770s Three yoko-e shunga prints: the first an oban by Koryusai from the series Shikido torikumi juniban (Twelve Bouts in the Way of Love), depicting a couple making love in front of a black-lacquered mirror, unsigned, 24.2cm x 36.5cm (9½in x 14 3/8in); the other two chuban prints attributed to Koryusai, the first depicting a couple making love in front of a warbler and plum tree decorated screen, unsigned, 18.8cm x 25.4cm (7 3/8in x 10in); the last depicting a kageko (kabuki actor apprentice and male prostitute) and a woman fornicating on a futon, a tobacco pouch and a kiseru (pipe) lying on the tatami mat, unsigned, 18.5cm x 23.3cm (7 5/16in x 9 3/16in).
