Showa era (1926-1989), dated 1931 and 1947 Comprising two oban tate-e prints: one titled along the left margin Yuki no Mukojima (Mukojima in Snow) depicting a boatman and his passenger caught in a twilight snowstorm, dated Showa rokunen junigatsu saku (Work of December, Showa 6 [1931]), published by Watanabe Shozaburo (unsealed), 39.2cm x 26.3cm (15 3/8in x 10 3/8in); the second also titled along the left margin Kawarago no yau (Evening Rain at Kawarago), depicting a silhouetted solitary man beneath an umbrella walking in the distance past lit windows, dated Showa nijuninen saku (Work of Showa 22 [1947]), published by Watanabe Shozaburo, with a 6mm round Watanabe seal at the bottom left corner, 38.2cm x 26cm (15in x 10¼in); both signed Hasui with Kawase seal.
