观音身着长衣，弯眉细目，修鼻小口，眼睑低垂，眉宇间透露出慈悲与智慧；头顶发髻高盘，容颜清秀，神态安详，呈优雅立姿；头顶发髻高盘；胸前璎珞亮丽，身穿长裙，衣褶流畅，随风飘动。衣饰刻划自然洒脱，犹如曹衣出水，整体呈现一种沉静感，观之令人愉悦。 漆金持存完好，无论是造型还是工艺，皆属同类作品中出类拔萃者。 观世音菩萨，亦译“光世音”，佛教认为观世音菩萨为大慈大悲的菩萨，遇难众生只要诵念其名号，“菩萨即时观其音声”，前往拯救解脱，故名。曾因唐代避讳太宗李世民名，去“世”字，称“观音”。一定程度上，观音菩萨信仰，已跳出佛教，成为一种具有普世意义的文化符号。
