A RARE ARCHAIC BRONZE CHARIOT-AXLE TUBULAR CAP FITTING Western Zhou Dynasty The tapering hollow tube closed at the narrow end, the exterior cast in crisp shallow relief with a thin band of two striding archaic dragons confronted on a leiwen ground, the wider open end with two rectangular apertures for attachment to the axle shaft, the surface attractively patinated and glossy, wood stand. 13.5cm (5 1/2in) long.
