Description

端石，砚体呈长方形，上首圆弧，四边设有砚唇，砚堂平展开阔，受墨处微凹，其上首取其天然虫蛀略加修整作为墨池，砚背平阔，之上镌刻有砚铭：“虫蛀，惜书不句，宝研不污，间过日月，曰天地蠹，此何虫斯，尚有文字，金石之慕，爬罗琱锼，寝食陶铸，蠹哉蠹哉，甚愧乎虫蛀。”钤印“孟端”王绂字孟端，无锡人，博学工诗歌能写山木竹石妙绝一时，洪武中期坐累戍朔州，永乐初用荐以善书供事文渊阁，久之除中书舍人。其砚背之上亦有虫蛀，或千疮百孔给人一种出自自然地美感，比加工来的更加亲切自然，整体造型清雅隽秀，包浆浑厚古韵十足。为难得的砚中珍品。
