Entertainments were important and diverse in intellectual life in the Han Dynasty. The small green object held in the brown-glaze figure's right hand, probably is a wine grin, with his left hand pulling up his loose trousers with a dramatic face, it indicates that he probably is playing a comical performance with the musical accompaniment of the five figures. Compare the figure in the centre with a jade carving of a figure in a similar posture, Eastern Han Dynasty, which was sold at Bonhams Hong Kong on 5th April 2016, lot 35.
