古代著名民窑之一，以烧白瓷著称，明代主烧白瓷。其制品以人物塑像最为突出，如达摩、观音等，此外还有炉、尊、壶、乐器等器型，均名传于世。德化窑的瓷质优异，胎、釉浑然一体，色泽光润明亮，如脂似玉，洁白之中又闪牙黄，被称为“象牙白”、“猪油白”，为当时中国白瓷之代表。
