本品为龙泉窑传世珍品，唇口，长颈渐宽，折肩，圆筒腹，浅圈足。其造型兼具方瓶和圆瓶之美，既带方瓶的英挺轮廓，又具圆瓶的柔美线条。瓶内外施青釉，釉面厚润，如脂似玉，素净无暇。在传世和出土的宋代瓷器中，纸槌瓶以其独特的造型素来被视为宋代陶冶中具有最高审美价值的器具之一，深受历代藏家喜爱，无论是元明品味挑剔的士大夫，还是清代自称“十全老人”的乾隆皇帝，都对此品爱不释手，珍重万分。乃至东洋王公贵族，也以幸得一品为荣，什袭而藏，世代相传，引为佳话。时至今日，台北故宫最为得意的宋代瓷器馆藏，就有来自清宫旧藏的纸槌瓶，而纵观国际拍场，凡有一品露面，亦必荣登封面，引出无数话题和报导，而当世有力藏家，无不愿掷百万金钱，以邀宝物暂得于手。
