RARE ET BEAU PLAT LOBÉ À GLAÇURE CÉLADON LONGQUANDébut de la dynastie Ming (fin XIVe/début XVe siècle) A FINE AND RARE LONGQUAN CELADON-GLAZED 'DOUBLE-PEONY' BARBED-RIM DISH Early Ming Dynasty (late 14th/early 15th century) Robustly potted with a lightly convex well decorated with moulded design of double tree peony, rising to the fluted sides and barbed foliate rim, covered overall with an even sea-green glaze except for an unglazed ring around the base burnt orange, raised on a short inverted foot. 36.6cm (10 1/2in) diam. Provenance: Robert Rousset, Paris (1901-1981) Jean-Pierre Rousset, Paris (1936-2021) The present dish is a particularly fine example of its type with its beautiful jade-like glaze and precise fluted cavetto and barbed-rim. See a related Longquan celadon-glazed barbed rim dish, 14th century, illustrated by R.Krahl and J.Ayers, Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum Istanbul , vol.I, London, 1986, no.167. The numerous examples of Longquan celadon-glazed dishes in Istanbul and also those from the Ardebil shrine in Iran, and now in the Archaeological Museum, Tehran, demonstrates their popularity in the Middle East due to their glaze, robustness and suitability formunal feasting. pare with a related Longquan celadon-glazed barbed-rim 'peony' dish, Ming dynasty, which was sold at Sotheby's New York, 21 September 2021, lot 162. 明早期 龍泉青釉花口大盤 來源: 巴黎Robert Rousset(1901-1981)舊藏 巴黎Jean-Pierre Rousset(1936-2021)舊藏
