PAIRE DE STATUETTES DE GARÇONS ASSIS EN HUANGHUALIMilieu de la dynastie Qing (1736-1820) A PAIR OF HUANGHUALI FIGURES OF SEATED BOYS Mid Qing Dynasty (1736-1820) Each boy, possibly representing the Hehe Erxian, well carved in mirror image seated with one hand raised and the other resting on a knee holding aloft an emblem now missing, the head turned to one side and downwards with a smiling expression below the double-knotted and well incised hair flowing down the shoulders, wearing long flowing robes open at the chest to reveal the rotund belly, wearing shoes protruding below the robes, the underside each raised on an openwork carved hongmu stands. 28.2cm (11 1/16in) and 27.8cm (10 15/16in) high.
