A PAIR OF CHINESE WUCAI `JOURNEY TO THE WEST` BEAKER VASES, GU SHUNZHI 1644-1661 Each painted with a scene from Xi You Ji, depicting Tang Sanzang, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing accompanied by ladies on a garden terrace, the central and lower sections decorated with chrysanthemums, peonies and fruiting branches, all below a cracked-ice border encircling the mouth, the base unglazed, 49.5cm.
