Parquetry, and the related technique marquetry, was a European practice seen in furniture from the 18th century, whereby woods of contrasting color and grain were mixed to create complex geometric patterns and floral designs or landscape scenes. A parquetry-embellished zitan corner-leg table dated to the late 18th-19th century, inlaid in a geometric pattern with zitan, huanghuali, and nanmu, was sold at Christie’s New York, 13 September 2019. 来源:马科斯‧弗拉克斯, 纽约
