John Pace, Bury St Edmunds The skeletonised chapter ring with outer dotted minute markers enclosing the pierced Arabic numerals, the numbers 4-8 'tumbling' over to be read upright, the time shown via blued steel moon hands, on a facetted base mounted signed below VI in a copperplate script 'John Pace / Bury' on an oval brass base with recessed lip to accommodate the glass dome, the whole raised on adjustable ball feet, the gut fusee movement set between a shaped solid backplate cast as a circle raised on C-scrolls, the front plate shield shaped and carrying the fusee, barrel and centre arbor, the 'scape and third wheel mounted on a single footed cock secured to the backplate, all wheels of five crossings, with anchor escapement and short pendulum with lenticular bob. Running. Height to the top of the chapter ring, 23cms (9ins). Total height, including the glass dome 26cms (10ins) high.
