By Takahashi Ryoun, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century The tiger shown striding forward with its long tail stretching out behind, its mouth wide open and growling, the stripes on its body finely delineated in low relief, on a removable bronze stand simulating rockwork, the tiger unsigned; the stand signed with a seal Takahashi Ryoun. The tiger: 39.5cm (15½ in) high and 113cm (44½in) long; the stand: 115.5cm (45½in) long. (2).
