A SOAPSTONE FIGURE OF A LADY HOLDING A VASE 17th/18th century Standing on a high base of pitted rocks, holding a square cong vase scroll with both hands, wearing a long draping robe finely incised with floral clusters of vaporous clouds and tied at the waist with a flowing sash falling over a pair of loose trousers, the stone of pale honey-brown colour with reddish inclusions, traces of coloured pigments remaining. 23.5cm (9 1/4 in) high.
